Auckland to Cape Reinga, New Zealand

Surfing, fishing and swimming at this beautiful sandy surf beach would be great in summer. By May, especially in this overcast weather, we could only imagine how nice it might be.  Select the photo below to see some of the small blue penguins we found washed up on the beach in the recent storm. We told the campground host about these as well as the couple of penguins we saw that were already dead. Very sad!
